My name is Patti. My first-born daughter, Samantha Lyn, was born in January of 2002. Unfortunately, Samantha was only able to stay with us for seven short weeks before she returned to heaven. The following year, I gave birth to my son, Cameron in April of 2003.
In planning for Cameron's first birthday party, I wrote a poem for his party invitation. It ended up being so long that, instead, I used it for the party's sign-in board. An abbreviated version would grace the invite. I had never written such a poem. In fact, I didn't know I had any poem-writing talent. I incorporated fun memories and details about his life, and even the party's theme of primary colors.
After that, my poem-writing took off! I wrote my second poem for my mom to give as a gift at a young girl's 7th birthday party. Then, a co-worker ordered a poem for her husband's 60th birthday. She referred me to another client and that was the beginning of Angel-Kissed Impressions ®.
Initially, I wrote only personalized poems. I loved being able to give someone the ability to share all of their feelings and memories for a family member or friend. Eventually, it was suggested that I write special occasion poems as well. Though generic in nature, they are still filled with warmth and emotion, making a special and unique gift.
But nothing compares to writing a personalized poem for a client to give to their loved one. I can't wait until it's complete and I can call my client and read the poem to them. I almost always hear tears of joy as I reach its ending. And I love that! Knowing I've touched someone so deeply is an extraordinary feeling.
I truly believe that the experience of loving and losing my daughter has awakened in me this newly-achieved talent, for it was the most profound experience of my life. Being able to help someone put their feelings into words means so much to me. I know in my heart that my "angel" Samantha will always be my greatest inspiration.
